  • Are these all the documents I require for getting a visa?

    In most cases, these are the only documents you will require. The embassy reserves the right to ask for extra documents depending on the individual applicant’s circumstance.

  • Is there a different visa rule for retired people/ minors?

    If you will be travelling with a retired or minor person, you must carry proof of their retirement (for retired persons) / birth certificate (for minors). If they are travelling alone, you will need the same documents. A minor travelling alone needs to have a letter by their legal guardians that states that the guardians are fine with the minors travelling alone.

  • How long can I stay in Egypt for?

    Generally the validity of the visa is 30 days. You can only stay in Egypt for a maximum of 30 days at a time in one single visit.

  • Is there a minimum bank balance I need to have before travelling?

    You must possess sufficient funds to be able to cover your stay and other expenses in Egypt. In addition you may be required to show your bank statements of the last 6 months. It is preferred to have a minimum balance of INR 1,00,000 consistently for this duration.

  • Is there a business e-visa that I can get?

    No. Egyptian e-visa facility is currently not available for Indian nationals

  • What can I do with a business visa in Egypt?

    You will be able to attend conferences, events and even close a business deal. You cannot engage in any paid activity on a short-term business visa - you need a work visa for this.

At the time of writing this section (Dec 2020) tourists must take two COVID 19 PCR tests; one prior to departure from their home country with a validity of 96 hours from the date of the test, and a second test upon arrival in Dubai. The certificate must be for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Other test certificates including antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted in Dubai. Travellers must bring an official, printed certificate in English or Arabic to check in – SMS and digital certificates are not accepted.

Fully vaccinated Indian travellers can now travel to Egypt as long they have a valid Egypt visa or E visa Egypt and follow the necessary guidelines. You are not required to quarantine upon arrival in Egypt unless you test positive for COVID-19. If you test positive while in Egypt, you must quarantine for 14-days or until necessary. To travel to Egypt, Indian travellers should ensure that they are fully vaccinated, have a valid Egypt visa or E Visa Egypt and that they closely follow all the guidelines directed by the officials.

The best time to visit Egypt is from October to April when the temperatures are lower and the weather is more pleasant. The peak tourist season is in December and January during which the accommodations and tour prices are higher than normal. During the month of Ramadan, local life is slow and people stay indoors until they break their fasts
