The applicant needs to fill up an online UK Visa Application which will require details such as Personal, Travel, Passport, Dependant, Parents, Employment, Income and expenditure, Family in the UK, Accommodation, Travel history (UK & Other), Other history, Convictions, and other penalties, Extra information.

Proof of Funds
The applicant of the UK Visa Application needs to provide proof of means of subsistence to cover living costs in the UK. The applicant needs to provide the last 6 months' bank statement signed and attested by a bank official. In case of a business visit, the applicant must also provide a bank statement of the company/person sponsoring his/her trip. All bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week from the date of submission. Additionally, copies of fixed deposits and other cash forms may also be used to substantiate this.
As a guide, a person must have sufficient funds in his/her bank account continuously for the last 6 months. Average requirement for sufficiency can be calculated at Rs. 15,000 per day of visit per person to the UK. Eg - For a single person travelling on a 10 day visit, the person must ideally show Rs. 1,50,000 (Rs. 15,000/day x 10 days) in his/her bank account continuously for the last 6 months.

Your detailed travel itinerary which gives information of your travel plans in the UK along with tickets, places you are going to visit, your meeting agenda, tours booked in advance, your festival agenda, etc.

Passport
Passport details are mandatory. The applicant’s passport must be issued within the last 10 years, should be valid for 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from this country; should contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
Photograph
UK visa photo requirements include light grey or plain cream background, and visa photo size is 45 millimetres high by 35 millimetres wide, head must be 29-34 mm high. The photo should be taken within the last month only

Employment / Student Proof
For Employed Persons - A letter from your employer on company headed paper detailing your role, salary and length of employment, business card and 6 month’s salary slips and Income Tax Returns (last 3 years)
For Self-Employed Persons - business registration documents confirming the business owner’s name and the date the business started trading and three years tax returns of the business.
For Students - a letter from your education provider, on headed paper, confirming your enrolment and leave of absence.
Other Documents
1. Tuberculosis test results, if you belong to a country listed amongst countries requiring a prior TB test before coming to the UK for a period over six months
2. UK visa invitation letter should be submitted if it is applicable. It is a letter of invitation issued by a company, citizen or legal resident of the UK stating that they have invited you to stay with them.

Don’t book any flight or hotel before your UK visa is approved. If your visa is refused, you may lose the amount spent on your flight or hotel.
